Hi, I'm Jessie

I’m 42, a registered nurse, a mom of five—and like a lot of women, I’ve spent years trying to figure out what actually works when it comes to fitness, nutrition, and feeling good in my body.

For a long time, my routine looked like this:

I’d go to the gym, hop on a cardio machine for 45 minutes, maybe curl a 5 lb dumbbell a few times… and call it a workout.

And despite being consistent, I kept running into the same frustrations:

  • The same “problem areas” never changing

  • Cycling between strict dieting and burnout

  • Cutting carbs, trying to get “skinny”… then ending up eating bowls of ice cream out of frustration

It felt like I was doing everything right—and getting nowhere.

What Changed Everything

Things didn’t start to shift until I made a few major changes.

I started lifting weights. Real weights.
Not just going through the motions—but challenging myself, learning proper form, and gradually getting stronger.

And I changed how I ate. Instead of restricting, I started fueling my body:

  • Prioritizing protein

  • Letting go of the fear around carbohydrates

  • Eating in a way that actually supported my goals

It took time to learn. It wasn’t perfect. But it worked.

The Difference

Over time, everything started to change:

  • My body actually responded to my workouts

  • I was building strength AND seeing visible results

  • My energy improved

  • Even my pregnancies became healthier and less impacted by excess body fat

For the first time, I felt like I wasn’t fighting my body—I was working with it.

Why I Created Fit & Free Life

I created Fit & Free Life because I know how frustrating it is to feel stuck in that cycle of:

  • Fad workouts

  • Carb-cutting diets

  • Light-weight “toning” routines that don’t deliver results

I want other women to get off that exhausting merry-go-round.

To understand their bodies.
To fuel themselves properly.
To build real strength.
And to learn how things like hormone health actually play a role in how they feel and respond.
